Short answer

Zepbound is a tirzepatide brand approved for chronic weight management (and related labels in some regions). Because the active ingredient is the same as Mounjaro, the side-effect class overlaps: mainly nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation and abdominal discomfort, with the same serious-risk themes on labelling, including the boxed thyroid C-cell tumour warning from rodent data. Peptide Confessions does not publish dosing, timing, injection or sourcing guidance.

What the labels list

Zepbound prescribing information emphasises gastrointestinal adverse reactions and lists serious risks such as pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, acute kidney injury from dehydration, hypoglycaemia when used with certain diabetes drugs, and hypersensitivity. People with a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 are excluded by the boxed warning language shared across tirzepatide products.

Facial volume change and hair shedding after rapid weight loss are discussed on Ozempic face and Ozempic hair loss — the same weight-loss physiology can apply on tirzepatide even though those nicknames started with Ozempic.

How often side effects happen in trials

Rounded figures from the published SURMOUNT-1 trial (72 weeks). Most GI effects were mild to moderate and happened while the dose was being increased. Last reviewed October 15, 2026.

When side effects show up and fade

Nausea and other GI effects cluster in the first weeks and after each dose increase, then often ease. Fatigue, reduced appetite, burping and indigestion are common in user stories. Tirzepatide can reduce how well oral contraceptives are absorbed for a few weeks after starting or increasing a dose; the label advises a backup method or a non-oral one.

What anonymous users report here

GI stories dominate: #190 describes a first month of rotten-egg burps and time near the toilet that "calms down" later; #276 issues a public warning about sulfur burps. Rarer, more serious accounts: #290 describes a racing heart and low blood pressure two days after a shot that ended in the ER, and #61 misread a syringe and spent 36 hours vomiting.

Some effects are unexpected: #422 reports a crashed libido; #308 says reflux got worse in week one and then disappeared as weight came off. Counts are on the tirzepatide side-effects report. Diabetes-brand twin: Mounjaro side effects. Versus Wegovy: Zepbound vs Wegovy. In Canada: Mounjaro and Zepbound side effects in Canada.

When to get medical help

Severe abdominal pain that won't go away (possible pancreatitis), pain in the upper right abdomen or yellowing skin (gallbladder), signs of dehydration or little urine, allergic swelling or trouble breathing, a lump or swelling in the neck, or trouble swallowing.
