Short answer
Mounjaro and Zepbound are brand names for the same active ingredient: tirzepatide (a dual GLP-1/GIP agonist). Mounjaro's primary label path is type 2 diabetes; Zepbound's is chronic weight management in eligible adults. Device, indicated population and insurance coding differ even when the molecule matches. Peptide Confessions does not publish dosing, timing, injection or sourcing guidance.

Why two brands exist
Drug approvals are tied to specific uses. Lilly tested tirzepatide separately in diabetes (SURPASS) and in obesity (SURMOUNT) and launched separate brands so labels, pricing and insurer coverage could follow each use. The same pattern exists for semaglutide (Ozempic vs Wegovy). In Canada both brands are authorized and there is still no generic tirzepatide (Zepbound in Canada).
