Peptides for Arthritis: What the Evidence and Users Say
Peptides for arthritis — GLP-1 drugs with trial data, plus BPC-157 and TB-500 anecdotes. What research shows and what users report. Not medical advice.

Short answer
Arthritis is not one disease. Osteoarthritis (wear-and-tear) and inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid, psoriatic and others) have different causes and standard treatments. The only peptide class with solid human trial evidence for arthritis-related pain is GLP-1 receptor agonists used for weight management: STEP 9 found that semaglutide reduced knee osteoarthritis pain versus placebo while people lost weight. Unapproved 'healing' peptides such as BPC-157 and TB-500 are widely discussed online but lack arthritis trial evidence. Peptide Confessions does not publish dosing, timing, injection or sourcing guidance.
What has human evidence
| Approach | Evidence | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semaglutide (GLP-1) | STEP 9: knee OA pain and function improved with weight loss | Approved drug (diabetes / weight brands) | Pain benefit tracked with weight loss; not an arthritis drug label |
| Tirzepatide (GLP-1/GIP) | Strong weight-loss trials; OA-specific pain trials less mature than STEP 9 | Approved drug (diabetes / weight brands) | Weight loss can unload joints |
| BPC-157 | Animal studies; no arthritis RCTs | Unapproved | WADA-prohibited |
| TB-500 | Animal studies | Unapproved | Usually stacked with BPC-157 in anecdotes |
What users report
This site has no dedicated arthritis topic row yet; stories sit under joint pain, recovery and the peptide hubs. #686 describes less joint inflammation on semaglutide without much weight loss. Healing-peptide stories for knees and shoulders are mixed — see peptides for joint pain and peptides for recovery. Sample sizes for tagged joint-pain confessions are small (single digits).
Standard care comes first
Proven arthritis care includes physical therapy, weight management when relevant, pain medicines your clinician recommends, disease-modifying drugs for inflammatory arthritis, and joint injections or surgery when indicated. Hot swollen joints, morning stiffness lasting hours, or arthritis with fever need medical evaluation — not an unapproved research chemical.

Community Q&A
- Do peptides help arthritis?
- Approved GLP-1 drugs have human trial data showing less knee osteoarthritis pain when people lose weight (STEP 9 for semaglutide). Unapproved peptides such as BPC-157 lack arthritis trial evidence.
- Is Ozempic used for arthritis?
- Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide under weight-management brands was studied for knee osteoarthritis pain in STEP 9. That is not the same as an arthritis indication on every label.
- What about BPC-157 for arthritis?
- BPC-157 is not approved for arthritis. Evidence is mostly animal research. Anonymous reports here are mixed and are not a substitute for rheumatology care.
- Does this page give dosing advice?
- Peptide Confessions does not publish dosing, timing, injection or sourcing guidance.
