TB-500 in Canada: the legal status and user reports.
TB-500 shows up often in Canadian peptide searches, usually next to shop listings. This page is non-commercial: what Health Canada says, what the science does and doesn't show, and what anonymous users report.
Health Canada's position
Injectable peptides are generally regulated as prescription drugs and must be authorized before sale. TB-500 has no authorization and no DIN in the Drug Product Database. Health Canada's April 2026 advisory warns that unauthorized peptides bought online can be contaminated, mislabelled or the wrong strength. More:are peptides legal in Canada?
What the evidence says
TB-500 refers to a thymosin beta-4 fragment researched for tissue repair in animals. It is not authorized in Canada, and WADA prohibits related substances in sport. Human data is sparse.

TB-500 vs thymosin beta-4
| Thymosin beta-4 | TB-500 | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Natural 43-amino-acid protein | Synthetic fragment marketed as its active region |
| Human studies | Small trials on eye and skin wound healing | None published |
| Canada | Not an authorized drug | Unauthorized; Health Canada advisory |
| Sport | Prohibited | Prohibited |
Most claims about tendon and muscle healing come from animal studies of thymosin beta-4, not TB-500. Because it promotes cell migration and blood-vessel growth, people with cancer are usually advised to avoid it. See thymosin beta-4.

Frequently asked questions
- Is TB-500 the same as thymosin beta-4?

- Is TB-500 legal in Canada?
- TB-500 is not authorized by Health Canada for any use, so it cannot legally be sold for human use in Canada. Health Canada has warned that 'research use only' labels do not exempt a product.
- Can a Canadian doctor prescribe TB-500?
- There is no authorized TB-500 product with a DIN in Canada. Ask a licensed healthcare professional about approved options for your situation.
- Is TB-500 approved as a medicine?
- No major regulator has approved it as a medicine for the uses marketed online. Most evidence is preclinical or anecdotal.
