Frequently asked questions
- Is Selank approved anywhere?
- It is registered in Russia; it is not authorized in Canada, the US or the EU.
- Is Selank legal in Canada?
- Selank is not an authorized drug in Canada and has no DIN in the Drug Product Database. Health Canada named Selank in its August 2025 advisory about seized unauthorized injectable peptides, and says 'research use only' labels give no exemption.
- Is Semax legal in Canada?
- Same answer. Semax is not authorized by Health Canada and was named in the same August 2025 seizure advisory.
- What are Selank and Semax?
- Both are short synthetic peptides developed in Russia. Selank is discussed mainly for anxiety and Semax for focus and cognition. Most published research comes from a limited group of mainly Russian studies.
- Are nasal sprays treated differently from injections?
- Health Canada's rule doesn't depend on the form: a drug needs authorization to be sold for human use. Neither Selank nor Semax has an authorized product in any form in Canada.
- Does this page recommend a product, seller or dose?
- No. We don't list sellers, prices or doses, and nothing here is medical advice. Talk to a licensed Canadian healthcare professional about anxiety or focus concerns.
